June Travels - Part I

CATSKILL ADVENTURE RESORT - WURTSBORO, NY JUNE 7 - 10 - 2019

Thanks Roberta
Well, waddya know. I'm finally getting around to posting a blog. Yes, it's three weeks overdue. Yes, I'm at my second destination spot and should be detailing and writing about that...but what can I tell you? I'm lazy, wasn't in the mood, and/or too busy doing other things...yadda, yadda, yadda. Truth be known, it's all the above. Now, I cannot tell you how many folks have been at the edge of their seat waiting; how many have needed therapy to deal with the anticipatory angst of what I'm doing and where'll I'll be in my travel adventures. I cannot tell you because there hasn't been anyone who fits that description. So here it is, recollections of my first "official" trip with Winnie II for the 2019 Summer Season.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, this was my third time joining my RV Hudson Islanders club and their twice annual trip up Route 17 past Middletown to Wurtsboro, NY. They've been coming here for years. One could not ask for a more perfect 3-day weekend that included the right temperature day and night, the right amount of sunshine, low humidity and a breeze that would make you sit back and just say "Ah, what a perfect day" as you sipped your chilled Chardonnay or cold gin and tonic. Beside the camaraderie that is always present when RVers get together, this particular campground and its host, Barry, provided meals that were included in the registration fee and were most reasonable.

Friday was our usual "meet & greet," (where each contributes to the "buffet table,") Saturday and Sunday's morning breakfast (eggs any style with cheese on a roll or plated, grits, pancakes, French toast, Pirogis, bacon, sausage and roasted potatoes) and evening dinner: (steaks, baked potatoes or sweet potatoes, salad, vegetables followed by different flavored cakes or cheesecakes). I cannot think of what was served for the first night's dinner. Hopefully, a member who reads this will provide a comment.  All this was served at the restaurant. 25 members were in attendance with 14 RVs grouped together which made for easy access for visitations, a gathering place for our "meet and greet" and, of course, the centrally located campfires each night. These are made even more enjoyable with the help of Larry's homemade grappa, red wine and Limongello, thank you, Larry. What follows are the photos that should help tell the tale.
