Nova Campground - Port Orange, FL

67 miles - 1 hour+

This is my third stopover here at this campground. It's proximity to friend, Mya, makes it easier all around for picking up and visiting. She lives less than two miles down the road.

Mya and Mark provided the transportation for me and the lunches
and dinners we enjoyed together were diverse and delicious.

Daughter, Zahni, down from Jacksonville, joined us...

...as did brother, Zane. Terrific young adults.

Friday's lunch was Chicken Salad Chic  What they do with chicken salad, in a scoop or in a sandwich is both clever and creative.


Friday night we traveled up to Ormond to the Thai Woodhouse. There I met owner, Siri, once again at this, his new location. In 2013, when his restaurant was in Port Orange, I had the pleasure of attending the Laotian New Year Festival on April 21st. He and wife, Diane guided me with the cultural and religious events for that day. A most impressive and memorable experience.

Saturday's lunch was at the Mellow Mushroom  A very different type of pizza "bake shop." Check out their website and their menu. Delicious!        

All the metal sculptures were created with machine parts.

The best part? Their 50 tap selections of beer, both standard and IPA. This photo doesn't do it justice but the video clip below does.

Saturday night's dinner took us by the Daytona International Speedway and a very popular Sushi and Sake restaurant. Ronin   At 8:35 pm we were told we had a 35 minutes wait. Fortunately, it turned out to be more like ten minutes. It was packed and noisy with a very Millennial crowd.

DEUX SHRIMP: Tempura shrimp, avocado topped with steamed shrimp,
scallions, cream cheese and eel sauce.

Photo taken as we left around 10 pm. The four sushi chefs must've said,
"No more Mr. rice guy" and left. But I'm sure they were happy sashimi.

And so ends another wonderful adventure with friends and dining experiences. Thank you, Mya. Next up, Enchanted Lakes RV Resort in Malabar, FL. To my friends in the northeast, stay warm and stay dry.
